Changed sending unit four years ago and have a faulty fuel gauge again

As the title says, I am having the same issues again. Can it be the sending unit or something else this time?
Also, I have done the q-tip DIY and it did not help.

Same symptoms, same problem I'm pretty sure the same cause is responsible. Let me guess, you drive a coupe? Not sure why but significantly more coupes have had this issue than the sedans. Might be a different part but not sure.
