Removing rear engine bay weatherstrip to improve airflow?

This is a mod I've seen on other cars to help decrease engine bay temps, similar to hood angle spacers that is popular with the Honda crowd.

Has anyone tried this? Wondering if it's something worth doing

Whatever you do do not remove or alter the 2 cowl pieces that butt up against the windshield. My car was taken in for service while I was out of town for 3 months years ago and the shop didn't put them back on correctly. This was in Houston where it rains all the time and water leaked down the back side of the dash for months until I got home. Not a cool thing to return too, smelled like azz.....
