2004 g35 coupe engine replacement

New to the forum. I need help in finding info on getting engine replacement on my 2004 g35 coupe automatic. Trying to spend the least amount. Even if it means just staying with the stock vq motor. Please help.

Harsh choices...if you plan on keeping your coupe buy a new long block, have it installed. You could have a bone yard motor installed, it may not be any better than what you have! Not sure if you want to keep it and spend more $$ than it's worth, trade it in!

Whatever amount you spend is a waste of money on a almost 14 year old vehicle in my opinion.
Suppose after your replace/repair the engine the transmission craps out? Or the differencial, or the ECM or other electronics?

Find another vehicle that runs.

Many years ago while in High School I wanted a 32 Ford Roadster.

I spoke to the owner of this 32 Ford Coupe last year in Florida

He told me he spent $100k on his vehicle.

Be prepared with deep pockets if you want to keep an old vehicle.

A brand new vehicle not only comes with all new parts and a warranty but has many additional features that you don't currently have except for no cassette player.

Just my $.02

I have a 04 coupe, not in the same position with the motor but in the process on doing a basic build engine, performance and areo and i keep question the amount of money thats going into a 13 year old car.
and exactly that what happens if i fix this and thats goes....
i all comes down to personal preference and the $$$$$

Telco, funny story. We own a '32 ford here at the house and it's been surprisingly maintenance free, although. No ABS, no airbags... just seat belts. Only 20k on it. It hardly gets driven.

Does it still have the flat-head engine and mechanical brakes?

The one I posted has a Chevy 283cu V8, automatic transmission, and hydraulic 4 wheel disc brakes and was completely restored.

We did upgrade it to a V8 OHV engine :P. Reliability is key.. plus it was too hard to spin tires.
