Ok I'm pretty sure the GTR trunk is a LOT narrower than my coupe, I only opened the trunk on one once though so you would definitely need to measure it to verify. As for making it work, as long as the GTR trunk is the same size or narrower then yes you can make it work.
However, it's not going to look good on the G35 unless you're fully bodykitted out. The problem with any cosmetic body stuff on the G35 is they all run exact opposite of the design of the car. The stock G is designed to have no straight lines, everything is a smooth transition to the next piece and when you go and add angular components they look VERY out of place unless you do front/rear/side all at once.
The G35 is a smooth arc of design, when you add a jagged edge into the picture it looks bad.
I heard a story (don't know if it's true) but during a design meeting for the V35 Skyline (Infiniti G35) a Nissan head honcho told the lead designer to "draw the car with the single stroke of a pen". Guy pulls out a piece of paper and draws this.
The boss looked at it and said "Ok, now build it."
