Bent Pulley Bracket?
My '07 G35 Sport S has been fraying belts the past month. I replaced the idle pulley first and it frayed again. After the second belt, I decided to inspecting it & noticed the tensioner assembly pulley was slightly off compared to the rest of the pulleys. I ordered a Gates replacement and installed it only to have the same exact issue as before. I carefully looked at all other pulleys/accessories & they all seem to be fine & line up. Anybody have any idea what it might be? Could the metal pulley bracket behind the tensioner be bent?
No, I changed the whole assembly which includes the arm, wheel & new bearing. I slapped the new one on there and it fits exactly the same. crooked. I also bought a idle pulley & a new belt and put them on just to be safe. I'm out of ideas at this point. You'd think someone would've gone through this issue before but I guess I'm the only one. Ha
