Belt slippage

Hi guys, just bought an 04 g35 a week ago with 75k on the odometer. Had a drive belt squeal the morning after I brought it home. I’ve since then replaced both of the belts and am fairly certain I’ve got them tensioned right. However one of the belts continues to squeal for a minute on the wet morning cold starts this time of year. Any info on how you guys check your belt tension or anything else that could be causing it would help, thanks.

Use a "krikit" gauge to measure belt tension, it's a measuring device specifically for belts.

I use the Gates 91107 and 91132, one is a 50-150 lb range, the other is 100-300 range.

Tension for new belt is 188-208 for the main belt, 106-126 for the AC belt.

Tension for a used belt (used means the engine has been run with the belt installed, even 60 minutes of driving) is 164-184 for the main belt, 78-98 for the AC belt.

Here is where you check belt tension at.

Pretty sure the belt is still loose. It was probably pretty tight when u installed it brand new. But after running for a few mins it will loosen up slightly again. I had the same thing happen to my car. Just ended up tightening the belts a little more and the squealing stopped.
