Silly question but..........

Do you think it's "ricey" to run Nissan, 350 GT, and Skyline emblems on our coupes? Personally I don't. Just trying to get a feel of how everyone thinks. I know over on s2ki (when I had my S2000), some people would try and flame me for having an all-out jdm car. I mean I didn't get it too much, but still. I just want that extra touch to stand out a little.

Thanx,
Chris

I don't think that it is unreasonable to have those things if that is what you like. I went to a world of wheels car show and they had the infiniti g35 sitting there ( a few years ago) and I inquired about it and they asked if I knew anything about the Nissan Skyline. I was like "sure but that ain't no skyline", until I did research on the internet and saw that in fact the Skyline out in Japan had been redesigned. Some people say that because it was marketed in USA as a G35 that it is not a Skyline. I say that other than left hand vs right hand drive and some emblems and a few other differences it is basically the same thing.

Go for it! I did.

I say go for it, man! I've got the JDM Skyline and 350GT badging on my car, and I get looks from all types of different people. The point is to get people to look at ya, right? I might be committing a major party foul, but I left my infiniti logo badges on rather than going to the Nissan ones, because I wanted the car to have continuity (exterior badges, seat embroidery, steering wheel). I find that most people who argue that 'the G35 isn't a Skyline' are jealous that they didn't buy one!

I'm fine with it and planned to do it myself... ...until the whole issue of interior emblems came up. I can clearly see the Infiniti emblems on the seats from outside the vehicle, and I didn't want to start rebadging the whole car inside and out.

My rationale for the JDM emblems was to minimize the bling/impact of the car being an Infiniti (upon clients giving a short glance). After deciding that I didn't want to run the Nissan emblem on the grill and still have Infiniti all over the interior, I just decided to leave off the front emblem (gialla grill) and only run the 350GT emblem on the rear. So there's no exterior emblems giving away the brand (well, as soon as the new tires go on there won't be). It looks clean but not completely debadged. And if someone I would rather not ask me what kind of car it is, the initial response is an obscure 'Nissan makes that! '

Alright thanx for the positive feedback. Looks like I'll be ordering the Skyline / 350 GT badges soon enough. I wasn't aware that the Nissan badge fit into where the Infinit badge (symbol) goes. Maybe I'll un those too.

Although I never did think about it, I'm not too worried about the interior Infiniti badging matching the exterior (Nissan). It's not lik you can see through my tint or anything all that good.

Thanx again,
Chris

Yeap. That's rice alright. Why put things on the car that don't come with the car? Personalize your ride? In the end, it is still an Infiniti G35. You want personalization, build your own car.

Philosophically speaking, no.

If a board on a ship molds and has to be replaced, is it the same ship?

What if over time you replace every single board?

Is it EXACTLY the same as the ship before you replace the boards?

No it would be impossible for it to be EXACTLY the same.

and if were talking about things in flux, wouldn't it be that the world is in constant flux? Everything is constantly changing?

Can you step in the same river twice? Or did the river change?

Lets take that farther. By the time you ask me a question, and I answer-- the world has changed so much, that the meaning of my statement back to you is lost by the time the sound reaches your ears

therefore communication is meaningless.

Back to the G35 tho. If you change anything philosophically its a different car.

But yes, I guess it still mostly is a G35

(suck on that topsecret with your V8 G35)

I know that you are having fun, let me play. I guess I no longer own a G35 because I lost and replaced the cargo net. And my imitation aluminum door handles were scratched really bad and I had those replaced. AND... My transmission went out and I am on my THIRD one! WHAT THE HELL DO I OWN??? HELP ME OUT!!!!

I know that the "Skyline" has a template. I'm sure the 350 GT does too, but not sure.
