I currently own an 01 vw gti with basic mods. Its time to get rid of it and step it up. I was wondering if anyone had any religious problems with the car, things that were notorious for going wrong.

I am also comparing three cars 330 ci g35 and a 540i if you guys have any opinions on the cars let me know. thanks.

 

The 330 is a great car...my buddy has one. I actually think the G35 coupe is a better car than the E46 due to the extra horsepower, reliability, and equal handling dynamic. However, the new e90s are the best cars in the class. The 540 is a good car but aging and relatively expensive compared to the other two (especially after warranty). My G35 has only one major problem...a tendency to excessively speed. You think you're crusiing and then you look at the speedometer and its pegged at 90. Sigh.

Are you taking about a 05/06 540i? Cause, it's a hell of a lot more money than the G or 330ci!! If money is not an issue, then the 540i is the way to go!!
