Possibly. I'm not too sure of the details, but I know that if you don't have proof of doing at least oil changes every 7500 miles, it voids your powertrain warranty.

I'm quoting page 5 of the 2004 warranty booklet (posted on the infiniti.com website)

"As a condition of this warranty [powertrain], you are responsible for properly using, maintaining and caring for your vehicle as outlined in your Owner's Manual, and of maintaining copies of all maintenance records & receipts for review by Nissan. Failure to do so is likely to result in the denial of warranty."

As I understand it, follow at least schedule 2 of the maintenance log and keep invoices of services performed (or receipts of items purchased if you're doing it yourself). The bare minimum could be less than what's outlined in schedule 2.

 

Hi, I have a 2004 Infinity G35X. I was quoted $445 for 15k mile service by the Rosental Infinity in Tysons corner. Am I better off going to a reputed mechanic outside to get an oil change and tire rotation?

What is the engine timing tuning? The serive rep said that's one of the things they do.

Also, I haven't gotten any recall notices from Infinity. Looks like there was a recall in March this year. Anyone got any notices?

Also, I hear this brief grinding sound after I start the car and drive about 20 to 50 yards. The service advisor said that's the ABS kicking in. Anyone else noticed it? It happens everytime I start the car and drive a lil bit.
