Need your opinion? Aluminum battery cover

Let me know what you think about this cover and if you would be interested. Any 5 to 7 letters can be machined in the top. Also the recessed portion can be painted any color. The driver side is the same just a mirror image.

Im not a big fan of it either, maybe if you had the valve cover off and had it polished and other areas of the engine polished. I.E. pulleys, pipes, etc.

hummmm..... that's not something i would get, but again, i don't compete
in HIN or any of the car shows. perhaps that crowd might be interested.

i don't really do much work on the G35C because i want to keep it looking
simple and elegant. just a little lowering and wheels, that's all for me.

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing... I wish it was plastic though. I have JDM driver side and plan to paint anyway so this could be a good option - with embossed letters like you said.

Just need pricing.

I personally like the idea of customizing it, however, there is one slight issue.... ITS COVERING THE TWO BATTERY TERMINALS! God forbid something happened and the battery was shoved up or the plate fell down.....

as they say here in Jamaica "MORE FIYAH!" (more fire)

Adrian

EDIT: perhaps if you could use colored sheet metal as well, you know, like colored to match the car color in a way.

and then cover the opposing side of the cover with plastic or rubber or something.

Not crazy about the metal cover over the terminals either, BUT it does allow lettering pretty easily. Painted matte black, it would probably look good. I'd like to have properly labeled covers as well.

As others have said it would be better in black and another material that would not present a potential problem over the battery.

wow, I totally saw the whole Battery cover being metal and hitting a big pothole scenario in my head. Not pretty.

But in regards to the cover itself I think its a little too Loud for my taste but I give points for creativity

I'm sure there's an insulatory rubber spray or something you could spray on the battery-opposing side. I still like the idea, can you get the metal in other colors? Or are you just starting with the basics? hehehe
