G's with high mileage & reliability (new)

Hey, I'm in the market for a new car, my old lexus sc400 got stolen. I really love the g35's (espically coupes) but they are slightly out of my price range
($20k ish)

recently found a nice 2003 g35 sedan w/ spoiler for $19,800
kicker is, it has 81,000 miles on it. I live in norther cali so it is impossible for me to find ANY g35 for under 20, and the blue book on it was $21k at kelly blue book, and $22k on edmunds.
Test drove it, a very solid car, everything works, clean, no damage or previous damage at all.

my question is, how well do you think these cars will hold up over time/miles.
I will probably be putting quite a few miles on it a year (15-20k) I figure its going to be very reliable with the 3.5engine and everything, but my knowledge is limited. If all is good, I will probably go get it tommaro morning.

any opinions, reccomendations, and/or help is VERY apperciated.

Thanks, -Hank

I sure you will be ok, I have 58k and friend of mine has over 69k on his. Both 03's Daily Driven and tracked regularly. Change fluids, drive car, love every minute of it. Remeber this engine has been around for a long time and gets awards 12 years straight, It can take the abuse.

Yep, try to get copies from the owner documenting the maintenance performed on the car. If he's/she's had it done at the dealer the dealer should provide them with the list/summary of what was done when. That's worth it's weight in gold for a car's long-term durability.

^^ I agree completely..
Get the service record & if it's clean, & the price is right go for it.

The power train on these cars are one of the best in the industry.
With proper care you should get many more miles out of it.

Welcome Hank, and the 'new' ride you're considering sounds good. Have a mechanic look at it to verify its soundness, and then make an offer.

G/L and Merry Christmas.

What if the used G you are looking at has no service records included.? Could they be in a data base somewhere by vin if they went through infiniti?

But the one here is just a base G35, that's still a pretty good return for the guy, since that was originally under $30k. I know several people who have older Infiniti's, j30's, and those cars have high mileage, and still run and look good!

Hank,
I also moved to a G35 from a SC400. I couldn't be happier. I found a 2003 G35 Coupe fully loaded w/Navigation, premium & aero pkg and 34k miles for $25k back in October. The Infiniti's are just as reliable as the Lexus' so you shouldn't worry about a G35 w/81k miles on it.

What year was your SC400? I had a 95 platinum silver SC400 that I traded in for my G35 and still have a 92 silver spruce SC400.

Good luck in your search.
