Amsoil ships fast!

Ordered my Amsoil EA774 (the new nano fiber one) air filter Tuesday and it got here today! Also picked up my Z-tube from a member here today as well, so I'l be installing both tomorrow morning.

"Cleaning instructions: every year or 25000 miles. Vacuum cleaning or Shop Air cleaning." (sounds like no water is needed)

I know that some were interested in the Amsoil as a possible alternative to the K&N due to the "re-oiling" issue of possibly messing up the MAF. Full MPG/noise/and perceived power in the seat-of-the-pants review forthcoming.

Looks good, Danny. Looking forward to your review comments. Where did you order it from and how much? I was following a thread on this particular drop-in filter, as I have my reservations with my K&N filter . . . Which is back in its box.

Yeah, and I understand you bought two of them too, Andy? I ordered it straight from the horse's mouth: http://www.amsoil.com. It was $34.15 with $5.95 for shipping, and $2.90 for tax for a grand total of $43.00. I'm assuming the shipping's going to be the same for you since we're relatively close (they shipped out of Portland, OR).

Oh, by the way, when are you going to install your sway bars?

Good deal, Danny . . . Thanks for the info.

Sway bars? . . . Hmmm . . . I am waiting for my HKS Hi-Power exhaust to arrive. I figured that I would install both of them at the same time, since I need to remove the mid pipe. Sooooo, I'll just continue to read about all the great Stillen sway bar reviews until I get mine installed.

Damn you Danny . . . I'm going to order that filter now. Have fun with your install tomorrow and have a great New Years Day. Cheers!

I've had that filter in my G35x for the past 3 weeks or so and I love it. I can't say that it's added any power (except for possibly a tiny bit up top) but it changed the sound. The sound at lower RPMs has dropped in tone a bit and taken on a bit of a growl. It's not any louder than stock though so that's another plus for me.

Or maybe not that fast. I ordered mine on 12/27. They shipped it today. Hope to see it in 3-4 days.
Not extreamly slow, just not fast. Not a big deal, just saw this thread and thought I would balance it a little.

I ordered mine last Friday while reading Danny's post. I just got a UPS shipping notification. The filter will be here this Thursday. With New Years and all . . . That'll work for me.

I have a story about amsoil's customer service... but i won't unload on this forum unless someone asks.

But as a summary, if you order amsoil and decide to pick up at a nearby warehouse... make sure they have ALL your stuff, and if they don't, make them sign a statement saying they didn't give you ALL of it and what they left out. And that they'll ship it for not having it ready for you though they told you it was ready. I got into it with the distribution manager at the columbus warehouse... sort of a ******.

BTW, if you're planning on buying a bunch of their crap at once, get their $10 preferred membership, and it makes a HUGE difference in price. For instance, my filter was only $27 (compared to the 35 without the membership), and if you're buying several cases of oil (for the G35, girlfriend's impreza, and my cbr) it can take a huge chunk off.

Just a thought.

Have you had a chance to install? I am going to have to wait until tomorrow.
I have work due today so, am working to get that done tonight. I'm also going
to do the power duct removal thingy. Hope it sounds as nice as people say.

Yeah, I dropped in the Amsoil filter as soon as I got it. It only takes a few minutes.

Sooooo....?? you like??
Did you hear a difference?
I had the k&n but didn't like it. Sounded great. But other reasons, I took it
out. I hope this filter is a good replacement! Seem like a quaility piece.
I just noticed you list a k&n in your sig why did you switch? curious

I switched to the Amsoil filter for many raesons. The main reason was that I wanted a less restrictive filter than the OEM and a filter that afforded better particulate filtration than the K&N. I personally think that the Amsoil filter is a good compromise.
