Arrow how to ship wheel and tire combo...

Just wondering how you guys ship your wheels and tires out. Are they put into really big boxes or just wrapped up. I need to ship some and just looking for a little input on the best way to go about doing this.

when i shipped my 17" stock wheels and tires, i had cut out cardboard circles on both sides of the wheels and taped them...just one idea...it was used for me so I did the same.

I wouldn't do that for any nice wheels. Also wouldn't do that with wheels that are on stretched tires

its just an idea, it was thick cardboard that was taped up a lot on both sides and covered the whole wheel

I dont mind the questions, its fine. Yeah, when I got my 18" wheels and tires shipped to me from someone who owns a business and had sold them on ebay....he had each wheel and tires covered with a cardboard circle front and back. The only part showing was the top of the tires. Everything else was covered and there was tons of tape wrapped on them. They came to me in great condition. Feel free to ask any other questions.

Easiest way is to just do the cardboard disc and tape or plastic band method. Plump up the tires to near max. Don't double them up in a box people at UPS tend to be unhappy having move around a shifting almost 100 pound item and that's when bad things happen.

I once got tires shipped to me, and there were each in it's own individual box. Wrapped in Bubble wrap, and filled 3/4 of the way with syrofoam peanuts. Prob. a little more expensive that the other mentioned route, but I got my wheels in PERFECT condition. I once picked up wheels that were about 150 miles away. Figured 120 for shipping, or 25 for gas.

Go to office depo and get some of their foam on a roll and cover the face of the wheel real good, then use the cardboard and tape. This will prevent any "box burn" from the cardboard. I've shiped alot of wheels like this and never had a problem.

In the last 2 months I have had 5, 05 sedan 18" sport wheels shipped to me. All arrived with scuffes in the centers (high points) of the spokes. The paint on them is not tough and the cardboard just rubs them raw. You must put a layer of bubble wrap between the rim front and box.
