Coupe or Sedan

Hey I was just wondering if there was a diffrence between and coupe and a sedan besides the 2 other doors and some added weight. I was thinking about getting a coupe but Ive got a son and just got thinking it might be a better idea to gt 4 doors. Is the X sedan worth getting or should i stick with 6mt ? Thanks in advance.

If I were in your situation and was going to consistently have people in the back, I would go with the sedan. I put someone in my backseat of my 06 coupe for the first time (my wife, 5'-0" tall, 92 lbs) and even she said it was not a place she would want to stay for long.

It depends on how tall your son is and how often he will ride in the G.

My 06' 6MT coupe is perfect for me. My 15 month old daughter rarely sit in the G. She usually rides in my wife's SUV. I admit it is somewhat difficult to put my daughter in the back seat. However, it will be great when she gets a little bit older and able to get in the back seat herself. If I didn't have kids, I would have gotten a C6 or a Z06.

+1 If I didn't have kids, I would have a 2-seater.

My son is nearly 4yrs. old, so he can climb up into his car-seat by himself. No doubt, putting a baby in would be a little more difficult. My son loves going for rides in the G, so I keep his extra seat in there all the time for him. Makes it easier on me to just say "Sure, let's do take Dad's car!"

I also have a 5mo. old daughter, but she has yet to ride in it and does not have a seat in there for her. In fact, the entire family hasn't had to ride in it at the same time, but it's possible if ever needed. If you're expecting only occassional use for the entire family, the coupe should suit you fine.

If, however, you ever expect to carry adults in your back seat, then it's definately the sedan for you. At 6'1", I crawled back there and had to seriously slouch to avoid hitting the back glass with my head, and even then it was still close. Not comfortable at all for me, but again, my son loves it. He'll be really happy when he can ditch his car-seat.

I have had to decline taking my car to lunch with a couple of co-workers, letting them know that there was no way one of them would fit in the back. Busted their bubble for just a moment... ...but that's a small price to pay to have the coupe instead of the sedan.

Welcome, G??.
I've had the sedan and coupe and enjoyed them both, but as you've read, it all depends on your needs.
The sedan is great with more room, 4 doors, and bigger trunk, whereas some say the coupe looks nicer but has limited access to the back seats and smaller trunk.

The X is even better, tho not available in 6M/T, it does afford better traction in all kinds of weather, if that's what you're looking for.

Good luck with your choice and forthcoming ride.

Colin

There are real differences between the sedan and coupe. The coupe comes with a more aggressive suspension and tire setup. It also has a lower center of gravity. It also has the optional rear steering capability. Basically, it handles better. Both are equal in power. The sedan comes with more luxury amenities and much better space.

hope this helps.

Hey buddy, if i were in your situation i would get a sedan 6mt. myself , i have a 06 5AT and its hard getting people in and out of the back seats, and people told me that the rear windsheild bothers their head.

I got the sedan because I have a 3 year old. It would be a pain to get a kid in/out of the 2 door all the time. Both are awesome cars!

you can pack tons of people in the coupe, I had 9 in my one day after a hs football game, but if its just a son, and one of his friends they will be fine back there

Just for clarification, the sedan is not heavier than the coupe.

How hard of a decision can this be! Are you a sedan or a coupe fan! Easy!
