I'm headed to Afganistan for a year and when I get back I'm gonna go for something faster than the G. I've been thinking M3 or maybe STI. I would like some input on how these cars compare or any other vehicles in that price range that are fast but still have luxury appeal.

 

So the Price rang is $33.600 (MSRP of the Subie) through 50,595 (MSRP of the M3)

The M3 - well. You can't get get much better performance than that for under ~$80K. And the STI is fun and fast, but not much LUX in my opinion.

I believe the Adui S4 is a nice mix of AWD, Fast, and LUX for $46K. And you can't beat an Audi interior.

 

mrdwaters is right. two totally different cars. if you dont want your G, at least dont downgrade your car with an sti man. stick with the m3!!! or like mrdwaters said, the audi s4 is a good mix of everythig you need to smoke everything out there. good luck with ur decision!

 

Anywhere from 30 to 50k I guess. I've just been hearing so much about the M3 being an absolute beast. It says 333 rwhp, from what I hear that is pretty accurate.

 

It is a beast but only with 280 rwhp not 333.

The STI is the same in performance category to an M3. M3s arent exactly luxurious too. "Dont downgrade yourself with an STI" You know how many people look at you when you drive down the street in an STI? Everyone knows what they are so its like a celebrety car. They are RARE boy racer cars. So stfu and go suck on a way overpriced Audi's ***.

Dumb****s dont know what they are talking about. You want fast, you get an STI, add a downpipe, and you will be shooting flames out your tail pipe. Plus you will blow away any stock M3. You practically beat them stock in stock form. Buy an STI add about 2k worth of parts in it and you will have 350hp easy. I will have my sisters bf come on here and tell you what to put on it. he owns one and its ****ing crazy fast. And they are less than half the price of a stupid M3 and about 20 less than an Audi.

Plus, to prove how much mroe stupid g356spd06 is, the price of an S4 i built, with all the stuff i wanted on it was 57k.

An STI with pro drive components and all the other goodies, full loaded will set you back at most, 40k. And will blow the doors off an Audi.

Dont buy an Audi. my mom works for an insurance company and she hates Audis because there parts take forever to get there, the dealers are a bunch of ******, they are not exactly reliable, and they are not extactly un common.

If you get an STI, get a white one. Rare color.

 

i don't usually post to these kinds of threads but this one caught my eye... and so did your rude and ridiculous comments. the guy u blasted was giving what i would consider an accurate portrayal of the sti. there is absofu**inglutely nothing luxurious about the sti. plus the new ones look like azz from the exterior. maybe this is why i have never seen anyone over the age of 24 driving these cars in my area.

when i was buying my old acura cl-s i was also looking at the wrx... and i just couldn't get over how fugly and cheap (inside/out) the wrx was. the acura although didn't offer the speed, surely offered the luxury and quality of materials that the wrx couldn't even touch. i really couldn't justify paying the price at that time for a car that had a manual pull out antenna and rear seats that u couldn't even pull down.

your comments about the s4 are just as ludicrous. my sister owns an 05 s4 and not only does her car rape mine on the highway she has never taken her car in for service that didn't include routine maintenance. the car is flawless and built like a tank.... and as g356spd06 said... u can't beat the interior.

u might as well should have told drewsrp to look at a neon srt or perhaps pouring some money into a chevy nova ... i've heard that these cars are equally very quick with some aftermarket effort and with the money saved over u could have added some real luxurious sheep wool covers for the seats

STI's are rare? Are you kidding me? I see way more STI's than G's and S4's combined!

STI's are not luxury cars and in no way compare to Audi or Infiniti. If all you judge it by is speed, I've seen Honda hatchbacks that can beat Ferrari's. Yes they cost less, but they are not comparable. I would pick a Ferrari over a Honda anyday.

Out of curiosity, do you work for Subaru? Thats the only reason I can see that would justify you going off like that.

For the original poster, I agree with mrdwaters. I do however like the M3 more. Maybe a 645 if you can spend a little more.

 

that sti dude is a idiot.. get the S4 or just save your tax free dollars and get a aps twin turbo man.. thats what i did... you will smoke all the cars listed and look alot better at the same time

 

The m3 will cost you more than $50k new. More like $60k. For that price, you can get a Z06 and pretty much squish anything on the road pretty easily.

 

HIghliinted partes are the funniest ones. They mad me laugh a lot.

 

As a matter of fact, the sis' bf does work for Subaru, and they not only run extremely well, they are reliable.
