G35x Courtesy Vehicle...Impressions

I took my coupe in for replacement brakes (under the extended warranty) and the dealer gave me a G35x. Having never driven a sedan I was excited to see what type of differences there were between the coupe and sedan...

All I can say is I am so glad I didn't buy a sedan. The ride was too soft. I prefer the coupe's sportier ride. It also seemed as if I was pulling an anchor. No kidding the sedan felt really slow compared to the coupe. And most of all I just missed the induction noise of the Z-Tube and Pop Charger!!!

Got my coupe back and all is fixed. No more squealing brakes.

Yep - you're lucky you didn't buy a sedan. If only everyone else would buy coupes, my sedan would stand out a lot more.

It's too bad that your loaner was a G35x. not much of a comparison between one of those and a regular G35 - they do feel as though there is an anchor attached. But that anchor helps alot in the snow.

someone posted a thread not to long ago which i think was showing the g35x beating out the 6 speed in a road course. of course with the un-googlish search engine of the website i could not find the thread i wanted.

Nah, it was an "X" beating a rwd G35.

As far as the "anchor" goes, I run 14.50 in the 1/4 and have destroyed v8 turbo and v-10 'sports cars' on the track. With stock suspension. Check vids.

G35X suspension is tighter than stock RWD, but not as stiff as sport suspension option.

I recently got a G35X loaner as well. It honestly didn't feel that much slower than my coupe once things were moving, but off the line it sure was a dog. It is a tad softer than my Coupe and the steering is a little lazier but all in all, pretty much the same.

Its pretty much the same car except with AWD.

Really, if everyone bought Coupes our Sedans would stick out more.

i have an 04 6mt coupe and my mom drives a g35x... i was driving her x last night and i will say that if the awd came in a stick, i would have bought that instead.... i would be a lot quicker on a track in my moms car than mine (assuming it was 6mt also).... i just dont feel like im nearly as close to breaking loose on turns that im taking agressively in her car as i would in my car. It is kind of suprising to me to be honest.
