So I was at the hand car wash today waiting for my car to be dried when I noticed this old lady (@ 65 years old) checking out my car intently. She comes over to me and strikes up a conversation that goes like this:

Old lady: Hi, your car is really beautiful, what year is it?
Me: 2004
Old lady: Wow, it looks brand new. It is really a beautiful car.
Me: Thanks, your car (@ 1980 Olds Cutlass) is a real classic - they don't make cars like that anymore.
Old lady: yeah I know, but I don't drive it much - I only have 40000 miles on it.
Me: Really, wow.

HERE COMES THE CLINCHER!!!

Old lady: Who makes Infiniti? Does Ford make Infiniti?
Me: No, ahh umm ... Infiniti makes it.

I was caught off guard with that question. Has this ever happened to anyone? If you were asked a question like this, what would you have replied?

 

LOL! I would say that aliens make our cars, and it comes from a different planet. It's a car from the future! hahahah j/k I would never say that to a nice old lady. I would just say Infiniti! That never happened to me before.

^^^^Exactly. I would have said, Infiniti is the company which is a subsidiary of Nissan. Kinda like Lexus is a subsidiary of Toyota and Acura is a subsidiary of Honda.

We all know that Nissan makes Infiniti - I was just caught off guard.

I eventually told her Nissan, but I think she was confused because there was only the Mt. Fuji emblem and the I N F I N I T I lettering. She probably thought I N F I N I T I was the model and not the make.

If you're gonna make fun of the old lady at least get it right. Nissan makes Infiniti.

That is pretty crazy, I certainly wished I had done a search for "old lady" before I posted.

This is not a repost or a copy, this really happened to me today.

 

Yeah, my dad had an old 200sx which he loved. Every time he hears me mention Infiniti he tells me to shut the hell up. "It's just a fancy Nissan, stop acting special."
