Re: Debadging

I just did mine and wish I had the hairdryer hint. I did it the hard way by using just the floss, then my finger, then some goof off, then swirl mark remover, then clay, then ZAINO ZAINO and a lil more Zaino.

Re: Debadging

I made a template for that exact reason! Just in case!

Speed - my fingers were aight, I basically rolled off the big chunks and let the goof off do the rest of the work! It actually didn't take too long! From the looks of ur lil rasta man speed, your fingers should be accustomed to rolling things! LOL

Re: Debadging

i am not at liberty to say...

lol na ill explain but if it works ill do a full DIY...

im trying about 5 different methods right now - everyone has spoken of how they have tried and the paint chips - my last resort will be bringing it to a body shop but right now i am trying like 5 different things gotta see which works the best...

by wednesday i should know which is working (if any) and ill let u know its basically a combination of different types of primerings and paints and cleaning solutions and stuff - ive spoke to a lot of people about it dunno if any of them actually know wat the hell they are saying lol but we shall see soon enough...

ill let u know!!

Re: Debadging

Have you tried powder coating, although I dunno if the plastic emblems can ahndle the heat of the oven. I would think by now the guys that do the gold plating on cars would have the pearl plating as well!

Re: Debadging

screw that lol im trying the cheap ways =)
so far its coming decent on my test numbers (G35 from the right side of the trunk)

if i do it and it looks good with these numbers at the end im gonna rip all my [censored] off and do it - ill post a DIY on how i did it - i cant guarantee its gonna last very long but hey watever if they start to chip ill just do one of two things:

1. take them off and throw them in paint thinner and clean em back to original

or
2. buy a new set either from infiniti or SKYLINE badges watever

so we shall see ill keep u posted!

Re: Debadging

I debadged G35 emblem for 350GT and it came out good though i can slight see a very slight blemish which i think can be compounded......instead of the hair dryer i used a heat gun that thing literally almost melted the letters
