maybe dave's got the right idea here. perhaps a mini-meet/DIY day would be in order. i think if we got 1 person (maybe a real mechanic) who knew how to do it to come and assist, maybe we could all pull it off. i think we would need a lift though.

anybody have a link to that big DIY article on header install?

That sounds like a good idea
I have ramps for my car, but my car is too low to get it up on them, so I also gotta use plywood to help get the car up. A lift would definitely be sooooo much better. I figured since the air compressor was 200 I might as well just do it myself and save some cash.

judging from the install of my Kinetix cats, i think that's a definite. without a lift it would have been the PITA of the century.

just so you all know, i got a reply from Performance Motorsports....
Single Install - 8 hours @ $80/hr = $640
Five Installs - 6 hours @ $80/hr = $480

with five people $480 is decent.... i may go to this place by house as soon as i get them tho, ill let you all know how much it would be there, its a personal friend's shop. They did the installs on everything else i have... he said 3-5 hours at $80 an hour for me with a big asterisk saying as long as nothing comes up, which for the first time ever installing headers on our car just may happen and turn into 8 hours..... sucks its december and xmas is coming a lot faster than i think.....
If i do go through with it there after my install if it goes easy im sure he could hook people up, hes got a Z himself... im his tester, he follows me mod by mod but making me try them first... mine should be here within a day or two so we'll see. im very impatient and lookin at them wont last long.... If people are going to go through possibly with westbury nissan i'm still interested in that, a definite $480 ill do if we could get five peeps!!!

Yea im definitely interested if you guys want to do a group install. I dont think the header install is something i can do on my own. Everybody claims the install of headers for our car is a real PITA, even for car shops. So i dont really trust myself in doing it. If you guys decide to do the install in a shop, let me know. Im definitely up for it.

A recent thread has been going on in my350z.com has actually reported a loss in power on the installation of our top speed headers. http://my350z.com/forum/showthread.p...hreadid=101585

Im kind of worried about this. =/ But maybe its just specifically on his car. If you guys do decide to install it yourself. Let us know how it went. And give us a little review on how the headers feel.

I saw that thread, his car was running like **** before the header install. He had some serious issues to workout before the header install.

Yea installing the headers is pretty complicating... What kind of car shop are we planning on going to? If we aren't going to any nissan infiniti shop, you think its smart to give them a diy before they install it? Because not all car shops know exactly how to work on our cars.

Performance Motorsports knows these cars real well

Group install:
1) AxionF117
2) Gaaaar
3) SI G35Coupe
4) chuckd05

Anyone else? See if they can drop the price down to $450 per car
