its not the size of the lip that matters...its how u use it

lmao but on a serious note:
D - those things must be a b!tch to dry. My Privat Profils only have about a 2.5" rear lip (yea yea urs is "bigger then mine" lol) and the water chills on that thing like its a pool...i could only imagine on a 5.25" lip

Nooch,
You have no idea man. The water pools on the lip AND in the back of the rim. It is such a bitch. It even does it up front. Luckily Drew has an air compressor so he just blows it all out. I have to use like 3 towels to sop it all up.

I was going to ask...

is there a certain way to clean those things? And what cleaners should I stay away from and which ones should I use?

Hromero: I tried that Detailing Dynamics (yes, I was the guinea pig) rim cleaner that Drew had, and that $hit works wonders!! It cleaned off some of the crap I had on the inside (you know the hard to reach back of the inner rim) that had been on there forever that Drew giving me $hit EVERY single time he sees it.

It's safe on clearcoats and non-toxic, and my rims are still intact so far.... I might have to hit Drew up for that cleaner again this weekend to prep for the cruise...

Having a nice wand thing with a sponge on the end will help to clean those small nooks and crannys of the rim.

Oh... and I use microfiber ONLY to dry. Terry cloths will put swirl marks over time... so treat it just like the paint. CAREFULLY!

Parking FAR from the curb will be a new habit... just like how some of us have adpated to parking at the far end of ANY parking lot.

Yup, Jason hit it right on the head. Stuff is good, treat the rims just like the paint (wax em too, it'll make stuff come off easier) and park far away from curbs, they are not your friend.

not sure about cleaning them, but I use www.wheelwax.com to keep the brake dust off after they are clean.

SOAP AND WATER (use different then what u wash car with.

I just bought these wheel sponges (really glass or bottle songe things) that work great! I bought 14 of em since I know many peeps will want em! I'll bring em tomorrow!

Drying - Leaf blower or air compressor! DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR WITHOUT DRYING THE WHEELS!!! You will create mud!

This is also why I am going to try to get a group buy going for Project Mu brake pads!
