Body Kit Opinions

I was quoted $1500 for painting, installation, and fitting of a bodykit from my body shop in Brooklyn (which has done great work on my car after a fender bender). Is this reasonable for painting and installing a bodykit?

In terms of the kit, I think I'm going to get a mix-and match [impul front and sides with a kenstyle rear]. Do you guys think the lines will flow well? I'm not a fan of the kenstyle front, and I thought the impul front would go well. Share your thoughts with me . The parts will most likely be replicas from 350zforums, by the way.

and yea, I drooled over Jon's car during the whole meet. I blame you, Jon, for making me spend all my $$! Ah, what a love-hate relationship.

Yeah, that's about the right # for the work you want done in the area here.

As far as what you put on your ride.......... whatever floats your boat dude, it's your ride. But if you get too crazy it might start another Sawdigger thread

That's actually pretty darn cheap man! Other body shops quote around 2K + when they saw the replica kits in person.

I really like the Impul front but I would make 2 changed. Eliminate the license plate bracket and smooth the lil bumperettes especially if you go with a non-impul rear bumper!

all you guys with fiberglass kits are brave. I'd never put anything fiberglass on any of my cars aside from side and may be a wing. Even then i would still want at least urathane or ABS plastic for all the parts.

too bad there is way too much money to be made in FG kits instead of ABS/urathane.

That is a sick deal. Try to get them to hold the numbers, even if the fit is horrible. Remember that I have that Ken Style Authentic in my garage, and I rather keep it in the family. Let me know what you can get the replica for, and lets talk.
