Too Good To Be True?

I want a G so bad I have dreams about them......... I live in arlington,tx , so i did a search within 30 mins of my zip and came across this... at cars.com

2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe
Mileage: 22,000
Price: $9,000
Very clean and well maintained, clear title, 22K miles,non-smoking environment, first owner.
Email: john_tiery@yahoo.com 817-335-2635

I emailed him about the car and this was his response:

"Hi,
This G35 is in perfect shape, the engine runs great,it has never been in an accident and the title is clear. All maintenance up to date and performed only by Infiniti certified dealer.

The car is available but is with me in New York. I sell it for my brother wich is out of US, is in a bad situation and he need money asap. He left it at my place but I can ship it back in Texas for free. Please feel free to email me any questions or concerns you may have.
Regards,
John Tiery "

I did a search around new york zipcodes and he wasn't selling it there why place it in texas for sale if he is in New York. Why not sell it there? Does this sound a little fishy? or is it just me? you guys in NY might have a good deal if it's the real deal. Tried calling the number in the ad and it went to a fax.

I see sending him money and never seeing the car...... opinions?

You're right to be suspicious. This sounds just like a scam to me. Remember . . . if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Maybe if you ad 100,000 miles on that odometer reading he gave you plus some dents and scratches then i can see $9,000.00. Other than that its a scam or a typo.

2004 G35 22,000 miles for $9,000. That is a great deal figuring that the engine and transmission is optional. Read the fine print it is in 1/2 font size.

He's probably selling snake oil and a map to lost pirate treasure too.

Stay away from this. Definitely sounds bogus.

It's a scam. I contacted a guy who had a 2004 Hayabusa for $2500. I searched on his e-mail and found the same bike for sale in 8 different states. He lived in Europe. I took it as far as telling him my brother in law lived minutes from him and would pay in cash. He stopped responding.

I've seen that guys exact email selling a different car for 6k a 98 supra.

He respondes to you, but soon as you say you know someone close to him that can pay cash he will stop responding. Total scam.

I didn't see "BB" either. If anything, are you thinking about BBB - Better Business Bureau?

I'm always on craigslist trying to find old hot rod shells and once in a while I come across a really good deal for newer model cars. I'll email them and soon enough they respond with some like "Oh hi...yes I'm selling my car for X amount of $ but I recently moved to Germany. Just wire me the money and I'll have the car tranferred to you". Yea yea yea... Just be careful my friend because nothing that good is that cheap.
