nail in tire

I just noticed last night I have a giant nail in my rear tire. I took it to NTB today for a repair and he said the nail is in the sidewall which makes it unpatchable and that I need a new tire.

UNREAL

So I rememberd I have the tire and wheel warrenty from the dealer. So does that mean they paying for my tire? I gotta call them tuesday and figure that out. Now isnt it going to feel weird that I will have one tire with 0 miles on it and 3 others with 4k? Ive never had this situation before so I dunno how its gonna be driving it. this sucks if the dealer doesnt pay for it there goes another 330 bucks

You'd have to read the terms of the contract, but it should include road hazzard warranty and cover the damage.

Don't think they are going to cover road hazard. It's a warranty meaning it covers defects...Blow-outs...Thread peeling etc...It's not like insurance...

Yes, the insurance will cover the entire wheel. I have the coverage and i just had it done two months ago.

They will basically tell you to get a replacement and then you mail them the bill and they reimburse you. It's very easy and stress free. I think i got my money back within a month.

Really? How much for the warranty? How do they make money? Let's say you live in a area that has nails all over the streets (i mean an area that might have a lot of road hazards)...Just wondering...
