Winter Driving with a 6MT G35 Coupe?

I'm trying to figure out whether or not I need (or just SHOULD) keep another car for winter driving in Colorado (Denver metro area -- not in the mountains, if you are familar with tha landscape here). I've got a 2001 Acura Integra that does (suprisingly) well in the snow (with decent tires). I was planning on keeping the Acura when when I get a G, so that I wouldn't have to drive the G in the snow/ice -- but the G payments would be a heck of a lot more affordable if I could sell the Acura and just drive the G year-round.

I've been driving in Colorado for a long time, so I'm pretty comfortable/competent with winter driving in general, but I haven't driven anything but front wheel drive in the winter for many (MANY) years. Does anybody out there have much experience driving their MT G35 on icey/snowy roads? Any good recomendtions for (studdable) snow tires for the G?

I'd really rather not have to drive a new (to me) G in the winter time, but I probably won't be able to purchase a G for awhile if I don't sell the Acura.

Any thoughts??

my G wouldnt MOVE in the snow with the Oem 19's, but they also didnt have full tread. If you were gonna drive it yr round you would deff. need some 17inch with snow tires.

I have a 6MT coupe, and drive it all year. I put good snows on the stock 18" rims, and made it through the winter no problem. The VDC and (good) snow tires make it easy to drive. Obviously it helps to change gears at lower rpm's, but other than that it REALLY surprised me at how well it drives in the snow.

From snowy Canada,

Mike
ps - it's over 100 degrees here today

I've found that the G can get a little squirrly even on wet pavement, much less icy roads. But I've never tried it with winter tires.

I decided to buy a cheap beater for the winter. I've had a 93 Saturn, and now a 97 Grand Prix as Winter cars. The Saturn was $400, and the Prix cost me $600 (bought it from my father). The cars were reliable enough to get me to work every day and never strand me.

Just knowing that I wasn't putting my Fin through all that salt and sand in Winter made the cost of the winter cars totally worth it

No problems here in Chicago w/ OEM 18's and winter sport M3's, but I never drive in more than 2-3 inches of snow.
