Memory Seats on an 06

Guys,
I have an 06 Coupe and still cant set my memory seats. Been trying since I got the car back in December but for some reason when I follow the directions and wait the 10 seconds (i can remember what the book says) nothing happens.

Has anyone else had this problem? I know people complain about the lack of entry/exist assist - but if you are the only driver, and can get the memory seats to work, then you should be able to set memory 1 to your driving position, and memory 2 all the way back for ease of entry and exit.

But if anyone can tell me how to set my seats that would be nice.

thanks,
J

Ahh the manual is a little messed up, from discussing in that other thread.

This is how I just set myn on my 06 coupe.

Press set, then hold 1 or 2 for 1 second or more (once you hold 1 or 2 for more then 1 second, it is programmed) and then it will blink for 5 seconds. During those 5 seconds, press unlock on your keyfob to program it to your keyfob.

The 10 seconds if for the entry/exit assist but doesnt look like it exists on the coupe.

don't forget to open your door and close it again to test if your programming worked as well cause apparently it times out after 30 seconds or so.

The memory seats is included in all 06 coupes with the premium package, isn't it?

so what's the point of them then?

maybe KP Technologies could develop a fix if this is the case

I sent kevin @KP a PM just to mention this to him. For some reason I think he could probably figure this one out someday.

That's where when you turn off the car the steering wheel will tilt up / pull in and the seat will go back in order to make it easy to get in and out of the car. Then once you got back into the car with the key fob set for your settings in the car it will adjust back for you.

this is from the other thread but this is the temporary solution i came up with:

That makes sense but they should do it like the sedan, where you can turn it off or on. If someone is in the back, you can turn it off.

This is the idea I had, but not sure if it will work.

Setting 1 could the be steering wheel all the way up and the seats to the back.
Setting 2 could be your normal setting, the way you like to sit.

When you exit your car, press setting 1 on teh seat, and it should skoot you back and stuff.

When you enter the car, press setting 2 on your seat to get your normal position.

You could program setting 1 to your keyfob, so when your approaching you car you have it go to an entry position while you are getting in it.

Maybe there are some flaws cause i thought if it in my head....

Not exactly automatic but would get the job done.

Make sure you have the key in the right position.
It needs to be in the ON position for saving seat memory settings, but has to be in the LOCK position for turning the Entry/Exit Assist on and off.

HMMMMMM. Maybe that's it. Couldn't say because I haven't got my coupe yet (read siggy). I really want that feature so lets figure this one out. Somebody give this a shot in the 06 Coupe.

i tried setting my seats... i put set memory 1 and it lit up, but then i adjusted to a diff. position for 2 and it didnt set. and then i dont know how to delete the 1st setting i have. I tried doing it over the 1 but it didnt help. Should i take it to the dealership and have them warranty my memory seats?

I have the intelligent key - does this matter? I am still not sure why it wont work!
