Got back from work around 7pm today and haven't driven my G for a whole week (needed to give some love to my Jeep Cherokee). When I came home, I saw the 350z tube that came in the mail today. I immediatley installed the tube with my stillen intake I purchased 2 weeks ago. Then I cut up my stock plastic engine cover since I wanted to show off the tube alittle and I've heard the air is cooler when you cut the upper part of the engine cover (see rugrat's coupe). By the time I finished installing the tube, cutting the engine cover, and getting some grub. It was time for a test drive. First impression of the 350z intake tube was the revs shot up quicker and made a nice throaty sound. Time for some straight line fun, I turned on Goldenwest going towards the beach I saw 3 BMWs (325, last genM3, and a new gen M3) taking all 3 lanes. I thought it was a BMW meet because they were pacing each other. Suddenly the 2 M3's gunned it and I followed. The newer M3 decides to slam on there brakes, wtf? So I pass the 325 at full throttle and tapped my brakes for them to catch up to me, I guess the BMWs didn't want to play. Until the next light. The newer M3 revs the engine, the 325 and the older M3 are behind me. Light turns green and I get in front of the new M3 and beat it by a car and a half and I stopped around 85mph (lots of HB cops around). We stopped at yorktown and the new M3 pulled up to me, the tint on the M3 was limo dark so I couldn't see inside until I rolled my windows down and told the person to roll the windows down. It turns out it was a pretty good looking chick in her mid 20s. I told her I love her car, and she told me that my car was fast (in a flirtatous tone). Light turns green and she takes off and floors it. Just by listening to her car take off I could tell she didn't know how to drive cause I can hear the shifts are pretty sloppy, but hey it was fun even though it wasn't a fair race.

the z tube, it is more of a performance or horse power or both? I am still debating on whether to get the nismo intake. Just wondering if any have install yet and it is true about taking out the front bumper?

I guess she was a cruddy driver, because that shouldn't have happened. You should have been seeing M3 tailpipes the whole race.
