Today was a Terrible day! Now i'm having Suspension Problems. PICS. help!
 

first i locked my key in my other car (i know my fault, i'm dumb). after that i'm fine and excited to install my s-tech's, with my friend (has a 350z). so we install the rear in a snap. and move to front. following the DIY instructions, we get stuck. we can't get the sway bar end link bolt out. the DIY said was hard work and to "bang" on it. so we start banging away. and it doesn't budge, and we end up messing up the threard, because its all smashed down in the beginning. we can't seem to get the other link bolt (the one attached to the sway itself). i was trying so hard to undo it, i slipped and hand slammed into something, and my head into another. i got so mad i punched a hole threw the wall in my garage. (i can take pics of that too if you want to see. heh) heres the bolt i'm talking about. anyone have any solutions? to get the thing out and fix the thread. i can't just use a different bolt because it fixed to the link.

Hope your hand is ok haha let me know how the install goes i got h-techs and want to know what it will look like. When you get it fixed and done post up some pics.

You try PB Blaster yet? That chit works wonders, and the longer you let it sit the better, for real. I soaked bolts that wouldn't come loose for 3 days on a precision 10,000 HP engine, just to get 'em off. Yeah, really does work, just take some time. Soak it, come back in a half hour and bang on it with a hammer, soak it again, come back and bank on it with a hammer, again and again.

If that does not work, get a oxy/acetylene torch and heat up the whole unit to expand ALL the metals. TAP the bolt with a hammer and let it cool, then try it.

If that don't work, quickly and efficiently heat up the metal SURROUNDING then bolt, and then pop it out.

If none of these work, cut that MF and replace it!!!!!

Oh, and when you get it back together, use HI TEMP Never seize. The copper one. Permatex, whatever. They are all the same, just get the Copper kind, it's better.

Oh, you should be able to get it off with a gear puller too. Too fix the threads your just gonna have to chase them with a die. Don't forget to use a good cutting oil at this point, excessive heat will only weaken the bolt.

Is there some kind of load on the bolt? Push, pull?? somehow the bolt is torqued?

I know it's not much help but I did my springs yesterday and following these instructions I didn't have any problems.

Binar is correct, especially if you have only jacked-up one side of the car. The sway bar is under load... put a jack under the lower a-arm and jack it up until the sway bar can move... you should be able to push the sway bar link bolt out.

I had my car up on 4 jack stands. I had the entire car off the ground 1+ feet and I had all my wheels off.

+1, if the sway bar are under load, its going to be hard to get if out.
Just like he said about the jack, once you take the load off the sway bar, it shouldn't be hard to take it out.

you need to put another jack under the arm and jack it up so that the bolt and hole are in perfect alignment and it slides right out. I did mine just a month ago.

I've been saying for some time now that I needed to update my own how to and kill off what I said about using a spring compressor while the shock/springs were still mounted on the car. In a round about way here is that update. 4th post I think
