Dealer says 1500mi but ive been reading that it is 500 on this forum. Which is true?"

The real break in period is exactly 15,627 miles. Stay under 4000 RPMs during this period. My salesman also told me to keep it under 60 MPH as well.

Thats BS 15K miles and under 4000 rpm. LOL at the salesman. If that were true then my engine should have blown up a long time ago.

Actually, I got the SCOOP on what the true break-in period is. I got this info from an Infiniti dude from Infiniti USA or whatever. He said they put 1,200 miles break-in and not over 4,000rpm in the manual just because that's what people want to hear. The true break-in for the engine, he said, is actually only about 500-600 miles and that is only so that the gears can settle in. I, and some others on this board, broke in our engines pretty aggressively (I just drove it the way I normally drive) and we don't have any problems at all. The guy said the safest thing to do is to follow what the manual said, but Infiniti knows a lot of the drivers were going to run this car hard during the break-in period so you really don't have to worry.

Nobody truely knows what is best for modern engine break-ins. Well, maybe God knows but I'm pretty sure he drives a Ferrari because he doesn't have to worry about maintenance.

Back to the real issue:
Misspelling "appall" as "appaul" appalls me. Come on, we Infinity G35 Coupe owners are supposed to be more sophisticated and refined than the rest of the less educated Mustang, Camaro, Trans Am driving masses. Brush up on your English and represent, people. ;-)
