Correct.
There was this trial in the 50's or 60's about warranty.
Supposeably the court ruled that the dealers cant deny you warranty unless they prove that the modification you did was the cause of the problem.
Problem is, if you complain about how your winshield wipers arent working, and you have a aftermarket intake, dont be surpriced if they "claim" the problem was caused by the intake

yea, but that doesn't mean that most dealerships won't give you the run around for 4-5months before doing anything.

Remember it's the manufacturer and not the Dealership that honors the warranty. The Dealer couldn't care less if he's paid by the customer or the manufacturer. The reason for the hesitancy by some Dealers to pay off a warranty claim is their fear that the manufacturer won't honor the warranty claim, and then the Dealer will have to pay. The Dealer that I go to has never given me a problem about warranty claims, but then again I keep my mods to a minimum. Some guys add FI and then have the ***** to go to the Dealer to get their engine replaced after it blows.
One other thing. Establish a solid relationship with your Dealer. They are a lot more likely to be in your corner when there's a questionable warranty claim, if they know you well, then if you are a stranger.
