Aftermarket Cold Air Intake?

Re: Aftermarket Cold Air Intake?
You can buy the Nismo CAI here for $269

Frankly it is the nature of all CAI's to sound off. The volume level is linked to how close to WOT you are and how many RPM's your using. A CAI's tubing act's like a trumpet, causing the sound. I love my Injen, yes it is loud at WOT when you rev it from 4k to readline. If I don't want to hear it I don't floor it when the revs are past 4k. BTW, my Injen has never ever stumbled at any speed, been to 145mph twice, dumped the clutch and coasted down to 80mph. Both time's the tach didn't flinch. If noise while flogging the car is a concern, get the stillen intake system.

Re: Aftermarket Cold Air Intake?
Did the test last night and early this morning and here are the results.
Test 1:
-Accelerated to 80 then shifted to neutral -RPM slowly dropped to approx. 750.
-Accelerated to 100 then shifted to neutral -same results.
Test 2:
-Cruising at 80 then shifted to neutral -same results.
-Cruising at 100 then shifted to neutral -same result.
As you can see, there are no problems with the R-Tune CAI. This CAI was specifically designed for the VQ35DE. Thanks to Nismo for all the R&D that they put in their products.

well i think that i'm sold on the R-Tune myself. thanks for all the info you guys put out there on it. I'd like to try and go all Nismo. any input out there on this. good idea bad idea. with my modded civic i had different brands of everything. always liked the concept of going with one manufacturer

Re: Aftermarket Cold Air Intake?
To others who are wondering, you don't need to take the front bumper off to install the R-Tune CAI. Just the front left wheel and the fender-well plastic cover. You have to trim the black styrofoam bumper spacer in order for the filter core to fit. Actually, it is easier to install it in the G35 than the 350Z. When you guys are ready to install yours, let me know so I can give you some pointers -you don't need to do all the steps in the 350Z instruction book. By the way, I forgot to tell you guys that I'm getting better gas mileage after installation.
