sunroof "pop"

anyone else have this problem? mine usually does it when pulling into my drive way with a very small hill at the entrance. it sounds like the sunroof or maybe somewhere by the back seats. my car got rear ended a while back (although it minor damage) but we hadn't moved into our house yet. wondering if it's something that the repair shop did or normal torsion on the car's frame.

Yes, this has been an issue with the car since the 03s. I've had an 03 and 04 and both do it. There is a tsb to grease the rubber seals, but the noise just comes back after a while.

Just close the sunroof shade and forget about it.

Whew! Thanks ya'll. I thought the body shop might've forgotten to tighten something down and was twisting on bumps. Just another reason to keep the stereo on blast.

Normal tension/torsional twisting.
That scenario would cause an extreme twist.

Yeah. Mine does it too. Pretty loud. Seems like the car is gonna break in half. However, all cars I've owned which have sunroofs, do it, so it may be something inherent to them....

is it only when ur sunroof is open? cause i ALWAYS leave my sunroof tilted (imo it just looks better) but i have been also getting that pop sound coming from somewhere behind me seems like the back windos(i do have the coupe) in that area at least, i dont understand what that pop sound is or if it matters whether my sun roof is titled/open or not, any help would be much appreciated, thanx ahead of time

It's also a trait of sunroofs on a stiff car. My hardtop doesn't have such a popping defect. Of course, it doesn't have headroom issues either, but there are days that some added airflow would be really nice. It's usually too hot around here for full-open anyway.

I'd like to drive one with a sunroof to see how it handles as well. I've read replies that seemed to be somewhat surprised when I've posted that the coupe handles so **** flat. Likewise, comments regarding too much lean/roll on sport-equiped models used to confuse me a bit.

It really does place a stronger emphasis on the luxury part of the luxury-GT designation.

Had the same popping noise coming from my '06 coupe's sunroof, 2500 miles. I'm bringing it back in. I had it since I picked it up and it seems to be getting worse. It pops with the roof open or close. On my first visit to the dealer, they oiled the gaskets but noise is still there.
It cannot be an acceptable defect. My friend has a '02 Accord Coupe w 60K miles on it, no squeak from that car's roof nor anywhere else and he's got it modded - suspensions and wheels.

Of coursenot, it doesn't have a sunroof. I think the noise is coming from the sunroof's frame or from how it's mounted on the roof. Mine first started popping from the rear corner, passenger side. Now, I'm starting to hear it from the front end corners, too, but it comes and goes. I'm not sure if they gasketed the frame and mounts properly. Does anyone post the schematics of the sunroof from the service manual?

Came across this thread while doing a search. Similiar thing is happening to me, but I thought it was from the back seat area. Only happens when going over a bump or steep drive way. Does it sound like a knock or a rock hitting something?

I've got it too.. i think it's my sunroof.. that thing squeaks and pops like a rusty old door... never thought to complain about it to the dealer... I also have thousands of tiny cracks around the edges of the sunroof on the outside... anyone else have this problem???
