Considering G35 Coup.

My wife and I are strongly consideering a G35 Coupe with the 6 speed transmission for our next new car. Do dealers play price games on these cars, or is MSRP pretty much what you get?

For those who have had their car a while now, what problems have you run into? What sold you on this car?

Thanks for any help, it is appreciated.

For me .. No bargaining on the 2004's @ all .. Dealer would have none of it. They were leanient on options, but as not to actual car price. Most dealers have good customer service.

I originally looked into 350z, but it had outlandish styling, only 1 passenger, horrid lookin dashboard and interior, NO trunk place, no options on the TRACK (high performance) version.

Gcoupe had it all, Brembo, Bose, Sunroof, leather interior. Much more elegant styling. Better warranty 4 yrz/60k miles instead of 3yrz/36k miles on Nissan. Back seats in case.

A better mix of elegance, and pure sportz than the 350z. Great car for the price. Similar cars: 3.30ci BMW.

i see that you're from so cal.. in california, it's hard to get a great deal on the coupe.. especially if you're looking for the 6MT.. jus ask dealers around your area.. even up north in the bay area.. when i was looking, dealers that were a little rural, where people appreciated the car less, seemed to have some just sitting around, while others had them flying off the lot.. it realli depends.. jus do research and you'll be fine.. good luck..

Appearantly you haven't taken a test drive, or otherwise you'd be joining the league of G35 owners!
MSRP is what you'll pay. Interest rates are climbing.
You'll give little thought to either after it finds a home in the garage.

DragonGcoupe: That's pretty much what my local dealer said... no movement whatsoever. I really love the look of the car, and the tech behind it... but I am waiting to test drive till I have the money. Don't want to make the anticipation worse than it already is?

liu69: Thanks. I'm hoping I can get a decent price local, but I'm not sure yet.

G35Fanatic: Do you mind if I asked who you dealt with? Perhaps that person can offer me a better deal.

DbSQjunkie: My wife and I are waiting until we can afford to put more than 50% down. 6 months, and a lot of top ramen from now, we'll go do the test driving. No point on hurting myself worse during the wait

Re: Considering G35 Coup.

i posted this a while back and everyone just ripped my head off claiming i worked for them or something. i got my car through www.autodiscover.com .. they are based in jersey but they do work all over the U.S. You pay them the $100 fee to process the car for you and they guarantee to find you the best deal for you anywhere you want and if you can find a better deal, they will refund your money.. its truly amazing and saved me tons of time and money of course... so in short, i calld them up, paid the $100 and within a week they called me back and told me they found the exact car i wanted $1500 off msrp. i went to the dealership with my parents and signed the papers and drove off with my new car . This was on the g35 coupe btw

Re: Considering G35 Coup.

ok... there is ALOT of discussion about pricing of g35 and to be honest, you can't really make a general statement about the price. Many people, including me, paid MSRP, some pay over MSRP. But it is certainly possible to get one under MSRP.

This varies GREATLY depending on the region you live in, number of dealers in the area, what options your getting, if you order or buy off the lot, if you finance through the dealer, etc, etc, etc.

Right now, your best bet for a deal is to try to get an 03. The 04's seem very hot and people are still ordering them and putting deposits on ones coming in. At my local dealer they have a few in stock, but want MSRP only, no deals.

As for the reasons to buy the G... simple, there is not much (if anything) else in the price range that has as much value for the money. Check out some other cars, do a comparison, and you will see.

Re: Considering G35 Coup.

We have, however my wife HATES 2 seaters. Her last one was, shall we say, a Pontiac, and has left her pretty much mentally scarred for life on them. Plus I like the styling of the G35 a lot better than the 350Z... just a littlee TOO humpy for me...
