Re: Emblemless

I was just going on to ask if anyone had "Shaved" their coupe. Thats what the dealers call it here, (LA).
But the dealer I bought from had never heard of it.
Did you do it & or how? Heat gun?
Anyway I like it.

Re: Emblemless

I don't like it. It looks too plain and naked. It needs something to break up the trunk lid. It just doesn't look right or good in my opinion.

Re: Emblemless

I was thinking about doing something like that... but just leaving the Infiniti symbol on there.

Does anyone have any picturea with just the Infiniti symbol on the back of their car?

Re: Emblemless

"That's my point. If you know about cars, then you'd know the difference. No need to get so upset over this afr0puff, everyone says something ignorant at one time or another."

I found nothing ignorant in afro's post at all, but you do bring some ironic truth to your statement in a Pygmalionistic way. Back on topic, I don't care for the shaved look; I always think emblemless cars look like an attempt to make people believe the vehicle is something it's not.

Re: Emblemless

Now your car is anonymous too.

I think shaving is when you take the door handles or key holes off. Not when you take the stick on emblems off.

Re: Emblemless

Badging can also be "shaved," as well as key holes like you mentioned. You can also "shave" lights such as side markers :P

Re: Emblemless

I think the rear looks somewhat bare on the coupe w/o the badge... Call me stupid, but I sort of like the look of the sedan de-badged, as it has more of a profile contour than the coupe, and it doesn't look like "dead" space. What do you guys think of that? Many times when I'm cleaning my car and getting in between those little letters with a cloth, I think "man, it would be soooo easy", hehe

Re: Emblemless

shaved/shaving is what you do to the keyholes and handles
frenched/frenching is what you do to lights and tail lights
chopped is what you do to the roof
decked is what you do to the hood

these are classic Hot Rod terms

Re: Emblemless

with the emblems removed it makes a nice canvas to paint something on. Over the weekend my wife and I saw a Hispanic man driving in his pick up truck. Aside from the other "choice" modifications he had a mural of an aztec god holding a big breasted woman painted on his tailgate. There were ruins and other items in the background. The mural was very good quality but tacky. I joked with my wife that if we removed all the infiniti emblems off the trunk lid, we would have plenty of space to paint a mural like that one on it. She gave me a look that said she wasn't having that. man women are so fickle

Re: Emblemless

Well, some people like it, some don't. The shaving thing is ironic: If you've had a goatee for a while then you shave it, people that have never seen you w/out the goatee, tell you to grow it back. People that knew you before are always telling you to shave it. It's just one of those things I guess.

P.S. afr0puff, I was just busting your chops w/the "ignorant" statement thing. You got a good point...
