NAV system

from the people who ordered their cars with NAV system, is it worth it? How good does the system work?

Re: NAV system

Had it in my Sedan and loved it. Now have it in my Coupe and still love it. Never had another one to compare to. This one works great for me and I strongly recommend it. 'Very useful and a whole lot of fun. Get it!

Re: NAV system

it's really good if you like to run the tank down to empty. The millage record isn't good though. My wife points to the low millage spots and asks me what I was doing there.

Re: NAV system

As a Nav owner I give it a thumbs up, even if the maps are missing some streets in my area...

Re: NAV system

If she's checking up on ya just erase the mileage record. Shouldn't be hard to figure out. LOL

Re: NAV system

I'm a little ticked at Zenrin right now because they didn't correct my street name on the latest version (6.1) in my new Coupe. I logged in at their site to tell them about corrections last June when I got the car but no change yet? Maybe they don't update all info. on the next version....It just upset me because there are very few mistakes that I've found-- but my street was one!
Overall I love it.

Re: NAV system

If you live in a small city, forget it. If you live in a big city, it ROCKS!

Re: NAV system

Well it's a little more than a One crossroad, one stop sign village. Cambridge, (Ontario) is a city of about 110,000 and Zenrin got most of the streets- I'm really impressed. Sure there's many new streets that won't get on the program for a few yrs. but mine (Harwood rd) has been around for decades. They just mis-spelled it ----HARDWOOD instead of HARWOOD. So when I programmed in my 'Home' street it rejected it. Took me a while to figure out that they mis-spelled the name.
Like I said, no biggie, and I'm really happy with it.........

Re: NAV system

I use the nav all the time, even if it's just to go home from work. The map gives me a source of entertainment while I'm stuck in traffic. The thing that really bugs me about it thought is that many of the commands are disabled while the car is in motion. They say it's for saftey reasons, but when I come to a screeching halt on I-405 to find the nearest Starbucks, that's probably not safe either. Has anyone found a way to keep the functions from disabling?

Re: NAV system

Someone's working on that on F/A. /They're trying to break down all the programming to change some things like 'function disable' and being able to play DVD movies on it. I haven't read of any results lately...........
