Re: dealer service from passport VA
My brother from NOVA,
Just wondering how much you guy pay for your G. I was about to get the 2003 model last month, but got screw by Passport. We agree that I will put down 3000. When I sign up the paper work, the loan guy ask me to put another 3000, which is 6000 total for down payment. Now I know that a lot of people didn't put down payment. ANd I put 3000, but they try to play me. They **** me off that I decided to walk out the dealer. The deal they gave me was 32,700 for the Lazer Red, with premium package. I think it was a decent deal.
Now I have to wait to get a 2004 model from other dealer. Just wondering much you guy pay for your G in these 4 Infinity deal in Nova (2 in Nova, 1 in Baltimore, 1 in Bethesda). Please give me some advice, I want this G so bad.
Thanks

Ratman, are you sure they weren't asking for that extra $3000 down ($6000 total) to satisfy your financing constraints and get you into the best bank financing deal possible? I see no other reason why they should care how much you put down on the car total.

creature,
no, they still give me the same rate they told me, which is 7.9%. I was gonna get my own finance from my credit union, thus I didn't care how high they give me. Thing is that I had to wait for my credit union. Anyway, I just don't wanna think about this bad experience. If you guys from Nothern VA, MD, and DC bought the G from these 4 dealers, please let me know how much you pay for your G. THis will help me a big deal on negotiate.
Thanks in advance,
DaRat

Re: dealer service from passport VA
I got mine at Rosenthal. Before the car came in (I was in the very first allocation) the salesman promised it to me at MSRP. Then when it became clear this car was going to be a big hit, they tried telling me that I'd have to pay a markup. I threatened to walk because there were other dealers that had my same configuration coming in that wouldn't charge me over MSRP, so they relented. So even though I paid MSRP (which I expected to all along) they had me feeling like I got a deal. I'm sure that doesn't help you much since now you might be able to get it under MSRP, but that was my experience with Rosenstall. BTW, I only had a $300 deposit (yes, three hundred) on it through all this.

Ratman--
I went online to www.bankrate.com and found a cheap rate for 4.29% from Peoplefirst.com (I think it's now CapitalOne.com) I had them send me a blank check to write out to the dealer and I took it to the dealer.
When I sat down with the finance guy, he said the rate was going to be about 6.9%
I told him I was all set with financing and was going to write the check out. Once he saw the rate I was getting (4.29%), he said, here, let me adjust ours and we can match that!
So now I'm paying 4.29% via Chase Manhattan.
I'm actually glad the dealer did this, because PeopleFirst wanted to do an autodebit from a checking account as a requirement for the low low rate. Chase doesn't have this restriction.
Made me wonder how many people could get a lot cheaper rate if they did what I did. For instance, Capital One is currently offering 3.99% for a 60month auto loan now.
Hope this helps...

Hi guys,
It take me only 1 hr and 30 min to get my G last weekend. I put 3000 down. THere are a couple 2003 model at http://www.jbaautomotive.com/
in Baltimore, MD. THose guys make it so easy and quick for me to get my G. Anyway, I pay $32,600 for a Caribean Blue, Premium package with plash guard, and trunk mat. I pick this one because it was in the show room, and not outside for people to test it. It has 29 miles. I could bargain for the price to go down, but it was late Friday night at 10. Plus, compare to the experience with Passport, this is way much better and faster.
Anyway, thank guys for all the good tips, and so nice to be a member. Us guys in Nova area should form a small group or something.
Peace out my peeps,
Ratman
