Are you parking inside or out? If inside: Get a ScatMat. Throw a 9v battery in it, it covers about a 1-2ft wide section of your hood, all the way across. Cat jumps on, cat gets shock, cat jumps off. We have two- one for the FX, one for the G. Since we put them on the cars, our "garage" cats no longer consider jumping onto the cars, they simply curl up just under the engine cavity.

I know how you feel. When I was living in my apartment, I have to park in a car port and during winter the cats always like to sleep or walk all over my cars's hood. That use to **** me off so much. Believe it or not I used alittle of my dog's **** and drip it over my hood, I know it sounds sick but it works. Cat's don't like the smell of dogs. A known fact.

Re: Damn cats on my ride!

Maybe I'd put a little cup of doggy pee on my hood, but I'm not a fan of dropping uric acid on it, hehe.

ScatMats can be bought at any PetSmart or a store like that. Go to where they keep the invisible fences and whatnot, it should be by there. I felt really bad when I walked in and said "I need two scat mats" They looked at me like I was some horrid human being... I suppose when everyone there's trying to pamper their gerbils and I come in asking to electrocute kittens, that's what I get...

Re: Damn cats on my ride!

go to Home depot and buy 4 small plastic pots and the next larger size saucers that go under the pots... The saucer will fit over *top* of the planter. now you have a rain proof cup... You've spent $4. now drill some large holes in the pot, around the rim.

Also for sale at HD and Lowes, cat repellent granules. Like this
http://www.havahart.com/store/produc...2&dept%5Fid=15

Also, Petsmart may have granules as well.

Filling the pots with it will allow you to place one at each corner of the car and cats wont go NEAR it. Not only will it be very concentrated, but will last awhile.. You can shake them every few days and they've worked for several weeks for me..

One bottle of granules has lasted all summer for me. I've refilled the pots 2-3 times. (1/4-1/2 full). Just dont kick those things by accident.. Granules go everywhere. Our dogs dont really like it either but they dont seem really bothered.. Another bonus is no neighborhood dogs whizzin on my rims...

What I have found is that its better to use 'area denial' with cats. The last thing you want to do with a cat is shock it while ON the car. You dont want him doing that Fred Flintstone peel out on your hood...

I had the same problem at my last place which had a carport. I even tried catching it in a cage, only got a racoon. Drove me crazy. Finaly the cat won and I moved.

Re: Damn cats on my ride!

I friend of mine with the same problem put a Scat Mat on the hood of his 328C two years ago. The next morning he found the mat skewed to the side; apparently the cat jumped on it and got shocked (as designed). To his horror, there were seven long scratches and four small ones from where the cat dug in in order to leap to safety.

I would NOT suggest using this product for this purpose. They are good to keep cats off the couch, kitchen counter, etc., but the risk of the exact kind of damage you are trying to prevent is very high.

Re: Damn cats on my ride!

My bad-- I didn't really extrapolate on how to use them. Put down a few long stretches of fabric/paper towel (we use "rag in a box"-- they come out like tissues from a box) THEN put the scat mat on it. This keeps that from happening 100%. It's a great way to keep your cat from ever considering jumping on a car again... it also keeps the mat from leaving a "plastic was here" residue on your hood. I would recommend this 100%, our neighbors (with 7 cats) have used them since the dawn of time, and we've used them since the G and FX arrived...

Diana makes a 1000 fps air rifle. No more cat on the hood.

Re: Damn cats on my ride!

This is what u do. You take a cat and u make an example out of it to the other cats. Remember its only a quick peel out.

My only friend i that i depend on is blue. He makes sure i win. He makes me scared and hold on tight as i sweat. He is my only friend that gives me what i need from a push of a button.

"For God's sake, make an example out of her! Nothing says 'obey me' like a head on a fence-post!"

What show? Hint: if you know me, you know I love this show.
