Seat Belt Release Question

Hi! I have the '04 6MT G35 Coupe. Can you check to see if the driver side seat belt release arm is longer than the passenger side? It measures 8.75 inches from the bolt to the release, and the passenger side is only 7.50 inches. Any thoughts on the difference? And does it feel protruding when you shift? Can it be serviced under warranty to shorten it for a comfort issue?

Re: Seat Belt Release Question

Hi fayzter, My 03 Auto Coupe has different length seatbelt arms too. The D.S. is 8.0", and the P.S. is 6.5".
If yours is uncomfortable, see if Nissan will put on a 6.5", or a 7.5" to your driver's side.

Re: Seat Belt Release Question

Remember , your drivers seat moves up and down , the passenger seat does not, maybe that is why they are different?

Re: Seat Belt Release Question

I agree with TBUSGURU. The difference in length is probably due to the fact that some people drive with the seat fully lowered whereas some have it all the way up... if fully up is the case the seatbelt release needs to be accessable....

Agreed

I just bought my 05 Coupe and it is the only complaint that I have so far. It causes the belt to chaffe my neck. Isn't the seat belt release attached to the seat so it moves up and down with the seat? It's pretty annoying. I guess if I had a beer belly it would be a great fit though.

I feel your concerns on the seat belt release/lock being too long. It makes the part that goes across your lap ride up on your stomach making it uncomfortable. I find myself constantly fixing to rest across my lap instead of my stomach at stop lights.
