I live in Irvine... it might not be DUI... traveling 50mph on local street (legal speed) and doze off have proven numerous time here to be fatal.

IRVINE– The eastbound lane of Irvine Boulevard from Culver Drive to Yale Avenue is closed for a fatality investigation, police reported today.

Police are conducting the investigation at a nearby shopping center. A driver was killed when his car hit a tree at about 3 a.m. today.

Eastbound Irvine Boulevard is accessible via Jeffrey Road, police said. Police did not know when they would reopen the lane.

Rip Jeff ****.
He was not intoxicated at the time, infact he was just on his way home from Denny's.
He was a really down guy. Good man, most definitely.

Another thing, his gas tank exploded. Is that common for the G?

G35 gas tank

I believe there was another G35 that crashed and burned recently nearby on Southbound 5 near Newport Ave that kill 3 kids.

If you look at the bottom, the 20 gallons of gas straddles the driveshaft below the rear seat. Hopefully this does not turn out to be a "Ford Pinto" type problem.

I was on Yale that morning and when I crossed Culver I saw the car against the tree with all the cops standing around it. I never thought it was a G35 coupe from that mess until I saw the picture on this forum.
