26+ Mpg!!!

I filled up before getting on the highway on the way home. I filled up again as soon as I got off the highway. I was cruising around 75 the whole way and in the end I averaged 26.8 mpg. It's an 06 6mt coupe with 564 miles on it.

It is possible to get decent mileage after all.

With the cruise set on (ECU IN CLOSED LOOP) THEY CAN BANG OUT SOME MPG. Around town, its not just the same. Im about 14 mpg around town and have done 26.59mpg on a long highway drive home like you.
The sedans fair a bet better on the highway.

its possible. but not likely. its too tempting to give it some gas.

but for road trips then yeh its definitely possible/likely.

congrats..lol

Yes, around town this thing guzzles it down. I'm not sure my accord is much better in the same regard. Good thing my motorcycle gets here tomorrow!!!

If you only have 564 miles on the odometer, then isn't it a bad thing if you leave it on cruise control while still in the break-in period?

Well, as long as the trip isn't too long. It's best to vary your engine speed during the break-in period.

If your windows are down at speeds above 40 MPH, the increased drag will offset the advantage of not having the AC on. Hence, it's possible to have better mileage with the AC on.

Even shifting between 3 and 3.5k, I still only got about 18.5 mpg. City driving sux. That mpg is definitely possible on the highway. I got that driving to Vegas.

Break in directions haven't changed in 20 years but manufacturing techniques have. That ever make you wonder? I've done enough research to conclude that after the first couple hundred miles the rings are seated if run properly.
