Damn Steve what are you trying to do to that car your supposed to sell it in good condition....not with a flat battery and broken rear bumper . Yeah your driveway is steep I remember looking at it when I was dropping my car off once, hopefully it will work out fine in the end
What car are you planning on getting next?

Lol, Its a new battery. But the car has been sittin, so it was dead. Whats next? Man I dunno. We might be buying a new home near you in Vacaville. Homes cost a arm and a leg there!! I just bought a new four door truck and we also have the 350z and my wifes VW. I think Im going to go back to a sportbikes and a bass boat. But I dunno yet. I should be able to sell the car pretty easy. For about 40k with about 75k invested. Someone is going to get a deal!

That sucks man. That is seriously like a nightmare of a situation to be in.

I guess you're only options were to try what you did(throw something under wheel and try to hop in and hit the brake before it rolled away), or maybe to try to walk the car down the driveway by pulling against it the whole way down. I don't know how steep your driveway is, so I can't say if a person would be strong enough to do this with your car and your driveway(probably not), but if you were able to hold it in place.. then maybe it would be feasible.

I guess you could consider yourself lucky that it's just the rear bumper and that nobody got hurt and no damage to anyone elses property was done in the process.

Still sucks though, and sorry to hear about this story. Definitely time to invest in some wheel chocks. I use these plastic ones that I bought at Wal-Mart for when I store my car in the winter, because my driveway is a hill too. I bought 8 of them for like 6 bucks total.
