I too was on the fence. I test drove a Z and that puppy was bad ***. Practicallity spoke to me louder and I bought a G. I never drove a G, I didn't even sit in one until I drove mine home.
The interior of a z is butt ugly. The headlights and tail lights look like poop.
Buy the G. It's obvious by your post that you are an older person, over 30, just because you can spell. Do you really want to be caught driving a My Space flunky's car.
Do us proud and by the G

I kinda was in this position and I chose the G35. The Z car won't smoke your car, and if you want to make sure you won't lose to Z's spend $500 and mod it a bit. I'm not sure what the popular mods are on this board since I'm new to it, but I'm sure there's cold air intake and some exhaust modification. The G35 is a beautiful car that you can be proud of. It's not just a race car, but a work of art. I think with any amount of thought you will take the G over the Z. The Z is cheap

i was in your same position man. first of all, the back seat plus trunk room has been used much more than i thought i would. VERY happy to have the backseat..regardless of its size. Also, the looks IMO just beat out the Z. I decided basically when i saw the interior difference. Look inside an 06 G and an 06 Z... that just kinda finally put it over the edge for me. Performance diff is minimal and almost every1 who knows, and doesnt know about cars will say Oh, Infiniti...niiice. haha. plus, all i ever hear from girls is.. ITS PRETTY! ..whether i like the comment or not.. its the usual. I feel like the G is more grown up too. Z seems teenager-ish to me.

I haven't read all the posts but wanted to make an immediate comment. Honestly, the Z is not much faster than the G...for what the cars are worth, I say go with the one you'd rather be in, they are both going to provide about the same driving experience. In terms of speed and performance, I had my experience with friends and strangers with Z's with my G and rarely saw a huge difference. Sometimes I pull ahead, sometimes they do then again we all have manuals. They are basically on the same platform and same engine...only about 142 lbs. different...basically, like having a passenger.
If you're getting a manual, it doesn't matter about the car but the driver's skill. I am more about the ride and fit and finish, the Z's interior just felt too cheap to me...just my 2 cents.
