Ummmm...I dont know about anyone else who had read this thread but I am confused, on one hand we have this comment...
I don't know how tight your money situation is, but I believe that the G coupe isn't a good candidate as a used car because it holds its value so well. I'd rather pay a few thousand extra and get a new one. On the other hand if the few thousand will be a stretch, then get a used one since Gs are holding up very well from a quality perspective based on what I've read.
And at other hand we have got this comment...
you just have to be patient and you can get what you want... i got an 05 coupe fully loaded.. aero package, sport package, sunroof, navi and the oem 19's for $27,900 and only 17k miles... but i was looking everyday for 4 months... one day i found one and came home with it that day.. you just got to be patient
which say that G35 deprecated 30% in one year...

So they quoted you a fully loaded G35 coupe for about 3500 below invoice?

I was looking to buy a Porsche, so I took my '05 G coupe to CarMax on Saturday for an appraisal. I paid $34K for the car and it's a year and a half old. CarMax offered me $29,400 for my car which of course is the wholesale price. So even when you compare retail purchase price to wholesale selling price, the depreciation on my car was around 15% for for 15 months. How the other guy bought a G for almost $2K for under what CarMax was willing to pay me could be because of the low mileage and excellent condition of my car, and of course price varies by geographical region.

I think it also depends where you are and how many dealerships are in the area. In Washington, there are only 3 dealerships in the whole state, and only 2 within reasonable distance to Seattle, so the ability to negotiate there is a bit less. I'd also be careful about reading the out the door prices posted around this forum. Initially, I thought I overpaid for my 06 Coupe, until I realized that sales tax in NJ is about 2.1% less than WA, which explains the price difference.

I got my 06 DG 6MT in May with premium and aero packages for 36,232. That included a clear bra as well. It'd pay a few extra K and get it loaded. You'll be glad you did later.

Hi There - I'm new to the forum and just purchased an '06 yesterday.

* 06 6MT, IW/Wheat, Prem, Aero, Sirius, Trunk Mat, Splash Guards
* $100 under invoice

I feel like I got a good deal and am happy with it.

Kevin
