6MT clutch or flywheel problem

Hi all. Also posted this on freshalloy.

I just picked up my 6MT tonight and it had 40 miles on it by the time I got home. My question is: does the clutch have a vibration when you engage it taking off from a start? I notice it when engaging the clutch between 1200 and 1800 RPM and vibration correlates to enging speed so it definately the clutch or flywheel. Really noticable when engaging it slowly.

Just curious if there is a normal tolerance for these things if I understood another post that said its a 2 piece with a damper assembly in it. In that case they changed his flywheel as defective and it sounds very similar with regard to symptoms.

After a BM buyback and buying one of these to avoid American cars, I will be pretty ticked if this thing already has problems and its brand new.

Re: 6MT clutch or flywheel problem

Quick question....

Did you punch it a couple times from the dealership back to your house?

Re: 6MT clutch or flywheel problem

Drive the car for awhile and get used to the clutch. Just sounds like, from all these posts about the clutch, that it takes some getting used to finding the 'sweet' spot.
Remember there is always a fine line between 'bogging' and 'chirping' the tires.

Merlin.
