Peanut butter to remove wax on plastic trim!

lol...i know it sounds crazy...but i tried it just this morning...and it works!!

before i started zaino, i use to wax my coupe, and as careful as i try to be it's almost impossible to avoid getting wax on the plastic trim completely...
i didn't thought much of it at first...until the black turns to grey and grey to white

so i did my research...first i tried dawn...didn't seem to work on the plastic...then i searched a bit more and noticed almost every post mentioned peanut butter...meh...why not give it a try (Sal Zaino even replied my mail recommending lighter fluid, rubbing alcohol, or PEANUT BUTTER...lol)

anyhow...it seemed to have worked for me this morning...the wax was left on my black plastic trim for nearly a year...just microwave the peanut butter for about 20sec and use a old toothbrush to work it in the plastic...and let it sit for about 3-5min...then wipe...rinse...or have ur dog remove it for u...

however, i'm not sure if this is a permanent solution...black appears to be black for now...i'll be sure to get back on this thread in a day or two to see if the result stays...

hope this will help anyone with similar problems =) cheers guys!

Nice post.
I would assume smooth since chunky would cause scratches!

I have, but Zaino's plastic treatment works much better.

Be sure to clean all the slop off your trim afterwards, or you may just wake up in the morning to see raccoons, squirrels, possums, and all sorts of other **** licking, gnawing, and scratching at your car's trim. Yummy!

I tried it, it didn't do a damn thing.... and by "it", I mean the Back to Black product.

The best thing I've found to do is to take a wet and soapy rag or wash mit to it, and to rub the hell out of it in the same spot for like 20 seconds after the plastic surface has already been soaked with a hose. That seemed to get about 90% of the wax out.

Perhaps I'll try the peanut butter thing, but it sounds like it might make a mess out of the side of the car if any peanut butter goo were to stay on the mirror and get washed down on the doors after I rag off the majority of the peanut butter after using it.

I bought it more for trying to fix the sunfading problem. My coupe turns four in December and it's beginning to look very, very gray.
