Ok everybody, what are you doing to modify the dash to fit a double din?

I don't want a router near it....it never looks perfect. The only replacement dash kit I can find seems to cost a couple hundred bucks from Japan.

Does anybody have any good ideas?

I am looking to just install my Alpine deck w/ Ipod adapter into the double opening until I can find a good monitor. What all will I need to buy to make the conversion?

I don't know much about electronics, so any help is good.

yes you will have to buy the ac control unit as ours is molded into the back side of the dash plate..you will also need a nissan wiring harness"which you can buy from any bestbuy/circuit city stores in your area"and possibly a antenna adapter..

I wonder why Infiniti makes such a crappy console design that they intergrated the Headunit in the dash like that! Makes it so complicated to replace the head unit.

I looked into changing the head unit when my Bose in my 2003 coupe had a CD ERR and its no longer under warranty. The conversion is costly!

Anyways its a good thing that you're changing out the head unit. Its definitely not all that great.
