Apples and Oranges. Some like 'iplasma' can be objective even if he favors Lexus.
Nothing wrong with either. We are lucky to have all the choices we can handle.
I recognize Lexus a quality car, and the G35 as a bargain, giving up very little in the process.

In addition to my G35, I own 2 Lexus cars and I am a long standing member at clublexus. The majority of people on CL like the G35. It is they who said so many positive things that I bought one. I guess the IS guys at my.is feel the G35 is a direct competitor to their car and it causes emotions. I dunno, I don't care.
I've driven many Lexus cars in addition to mine and I'm sure no one can deny they have Infiniti beat in the luxury dept. Fit and finish, materials are just better. It wasn't always so. I had a 94 J30 and 96 G20 and the fit and finish was much better than today's infinit's. The Q has always kept pace and the M35/45 has returned Infiniti to respectability but let's all agree Lexus is more luxurious.
The G35 and the M35/45 are more drivers' cars than the Lexus. If you enjoy driving, being in control, hitting the gas, weaving traffic, taking sharp curves...you will enjoy the Infiniti more. I drive the Lexus when I want to be cool and show off. When I want to enjoy the music and cruize. I drive the G35 when I want to have fun. When I want to enjoy the ride. When I want to kick butt.
Both great cars. No need for either owner to snub the other.

Actually, if you read the thread, most of the people there aren't "hating" on the G....Only a couple of the are being straight-up obnoxious about it. Those are pretty good figures on a forum!

Wow. They talk like the IS350 is some kind of exotic. Don't get me wrong its a nice car, but it's a friggin toyota camry at heart. Half the time I can't even tell the difference between a new camry and an IS350 from the rear. LOL!

You know what?

I've noticed that IS, LS, GS, ES, toyota camry, and hyundai Sonata have a similar rear end?

Looks like a handful of people have their heads up in the clouds over there. I agree with the comment that Lexus is the Japanese Mercedes while Infiniti is the Japanese BMW. They take different approaches as to what a premium car should be. Toyota sacrifices driving feel to fully coddle the owner. Nissan sacrifices interior quality (and just barely) to bring a more involved driving experience. There are people who actually like driving and there are people who want something very plush to steer from point a to point b.

With that said, every forum has people who are overy biased when it comes to their cars. I've seen a couple of thread here where people have dissed the STi and the EVO and I've seen people who've dissed the G35 on IWSTI.com.

Interestingly enough, my brother owns an IS300 and I own the G35c. However, we get along great.

Both cars are great, just a matter of taste and perference.

Yeah ppl always diss other cars on their forums like their car is the only superior one. Pretty narrow minded and childish I think. But then again we do it here to just like what rasetsu says so its just the way it is. I bet if we posted a pic of a new IS here everybody would just bash it to the max.

to be fair, alot of the people in the G forums talk like the G is an exotic to. IS 350 is a great car, but i think the 300 is just a high end civic.

And the G35 is a Altima (SE anyways) and Maxima at heart Hey, I wanted to wait for the IS350 to come out before I bought my G35C. However, when I found out that it won't be available in 2 doors, that was the deal breaker. Yeah, the rear on the IS350 isn't my cup of tea, but the interior is nicer for sure. Nothing wrong with the IS350 at all. I think it is a great car. It just isn't sporty enough for me.
