BMW has 2 different motors in thier new line of 3 series sedans and coupes.

Only till next year. Sedans will move to 328 and 335 like the coupes.

But yeah the coupe is supposed to be the sportier one, so why not give it a bigger/more powerful engine.

Although I am no longer an Infiniti owner, (maybe in a year or so) I do believe this as true. Being that Infiniti likes to be first in its class, as they do compete with the IS250/350, BMW 3 Series, MB C-Class, etc. I have heard from the grapevine that BMW 3 Series will have a hard-top convert and my assumption is Nissan/Infiniti will want to get in on this deal to try to compete and be first in its class. Just my .2 cents. =D

6MT Coupe
Heard of the 3.7 rumor as well. Same with the 08 GTR, except TT for the GTR.
The 3.7 is nothing but a stroked 3.5.
There's a conversion kit now to stroke the 3.5 to a 3.8.

Doubt the removable top. The coupe is too big and the top would be to heavy to lift off easly, unlike the BMW Z3.

If they did make a 3.7L, how much more power would that engine produce?

Maybe Infiniti should combine both ideas and make the next hard top convertible a 3.7 liter VQ to make up for the extra weight. That way the coupe and sedan could still have the same engine.

Well, let's just say I know (99% sure) that there will be a hard top vert coming. Don't ask me how, but it isn't just a rumor. Where I work, we need to know, if you know what I mean . However, I've been trying to find out about the engine, but no go on that one. If we don't know, no one knows outside of a select few. We have to be the first to know So yeah, there will be a hard top.

Job sounds sketchy, but love the news. The G would look sick in a hard-top convert.. By the way the market is changing, the G needs to do something to stay ontop. The body style hasn't changed much since its revealing a few years ago. But the way BMW does it is that they change their body style alot every 7 years, so i am sure the G is due to it.

My job isn't sketchy...hehe. Just think about it? Who needs to know the details of a car (other then the engineers) that will be released soon? That'll give you an indication of my industry. Anywho, I would rather hear the details of the engine but that info isn't as important as the entire car iteself.

How can someone provide you with a date on something that may never be offered? I did read that the '08 G coupe will be offered for sale in late Spring / early Summer 2007. If a hardtop vert is released it probably will be at least six months later. Keep in mind that the price point for a hardtop vert would probably be in the mid to upper $40s.
