You either love it or hate it. I give a rat's @ss about others' jaw dropping. It's my jaw that drops everytime I see my G35 coupe.

+1

I got this car because I like it and I mod my car for MY own enjoyment. I could care less what people think.

+1.

Besides, I think the G is far from played out. Infiniti sales numbers are still way below the Acura and Lexus numbers.

I'm in the Los Angeles area and we have a lot of everything so I probably see a pretty good representative sample size. However, while G Sedans are a dime-a-dozen, as a percentage of cars on the road, I do not see all that many coupes, and surprisingly even fewer Z's!

Relax, you have one of the nicest cars on the road, no matter how many may be on the road!

I feel the same way. About a year ago, I see a G35 coupe once every few days, now I see 5 or 6 a day! But I'm still getting one regardless. One thing I noticed that comforts me is that about 80% of the ones I see are automatic, so 6MTs are still pretty rare out there.

Here in the Bay Area, maybe it's just me but I see alot more other cars in or around this price range ie. 3 series BMW, C class Mercedes (Mercedes in general), Lexus, and Acura. In fact my friend just bought an 06 G coupe and he even mentioned that he doesn't see that many G36c.

I've always liked the coupe even when they came out in 03 but I didn't buy 1 till this year. I was driving an 04 Acura TL (bought back in 04) which now my wife drives. At first there were not very many on the road but now I see then everywhere, unlike the G that debut in 03, I still don't see nearly as many.

For a mass produced car in this price range, I feel that there is still some exclusivity. Bottom line is, it really doesn't matter. I enjoy driving the G over the TL and for me that is what's important.

It's simple math like someone above said...multiply however many they make per year (I have no idea) times 4 or 5 years at this point. Of course there were less at the beginning because there simply were alot fewer of them and they were still going for over MSRP.

As far as being "played out"...I still see 10+ BMW 3-series, Acura or Lexus whatever for every G35c I see. And I see 3x as many G sedans than I do coupes. I'm not really sure what your point is though...it's a popular car, has won multiple awards, has a look that probably 99 out of 100 people like, and is reasonably priced. It makes sense to me.

Now my last car was a 5th gen Maxima...try going 2 minutes without seeing another one of them. lol

I don't think so..................

You purchased your G35s because you have taste.
As long as you complete your mods with the same
taste they won't ever be "played out!" I pull into a
parking lot and still see the jaws drop. When that
no longer happens I'll go nuts and buy a GT2.

Well, if you figure that the G is far too common of a car, you outta move up here to Alberta. These are *not* cheap cars. I'd imagine the same holds true for most of Canada. I picked up an 06 AT with the sport package and the price was $54,000. I'm leasing for only 4 years and it's $880 a month for my lease. At a price like that, you don't see a whole hell of a lot of them driving around.

I know i shouldnt care about that but i do. Back in 2003-04 when i would see one i would get excited and now when i see one im like damn not another one. Ask anyone what they think of the g35 and they will say its hot...but its played out. Ask any kid what car they are gonna get next and they will most likely say a g35. I though modding the car would make me feel better but it doesnt. I still feel the same way. Its funny because even tho I think the g35c is so played out I wouldnt sell it for another car in the same price range. I guess I have to accept it but being the egocentric person that i am, this bothers me more than it should. I guess the bigger question is why does it? am i missing something in my life? i dont know. maybe those who feel the same way can chime in. I suspect people who mod their car will probably feel the same way as me since most ppl who mod are those who want to be "special". anyway flame me if you want but this is how i feel.

I still like my car but it has lost alot of its appeal. https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif
Not sure where you live, but I dont see very many and I live north of LA. If you want to see a common car, look at the BMW 3 series. Now there is a car thats played out.

All cars are "played out" in reference to your context. Like so many other previous comments, BMWs, Acuras, VWs, SCIONS, etc etc etc.. we see them every day and I'm sure other people who have other brands think the same about their cars.

Yes there's a lot of G35s out there, but that's inevitable. When I look at my car, I still enjoy looking at it like as if it was my first time. I still treat it like I just got it.

If you think the G's played out buy some rims or something so your G's unique. That's what I did. My rims separate my G from the rest.

Or you can buy an AM front bumper or something.

When I see other clean G's in the streets I still stare and look.. that might just be me. Played out or not I still love the G35 and always will.

I don't see why everyone is jumping on you. I feel the same way. Today I was stopped right off the highway for 5-10 min so I watched the cars fly by. I spotted the unmistakeable profile of a G, I thought nice. 15 sec later, another one drove by. And another one. And then another one. Silver, black, DG, another silver, white.. I must have counted 10 coupes before I left.

I never hoped 35 grand would buy much exclusivity, not on a such an attractive design as the G35 coupe. But as opposed to the G, a 325i, TL, or Lexus aren't considered enthusiast cars. As an enthusiast, you always want to be unique... hence the aftermarket! So there, I don't blame you.

It always seems to me at least, that you notice your model car a lot more once you have one - get a G you start noticing all the G's (happened with every car I've ever owned). Before I got mine I never really paid too much attention to em... now I can hear the exhaust from one and I have to look to see what mods the guy has

I don't think the G is played out, just think you are taking notice because you have one too.
