Noisy clutch?!??!

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. In one year of owning my 05 G coupe, I never had this problem/noise. The last few days I have been noticing that my clutch/tranny is very loud in the mornings. I can literally hear my clutch spinning. And I have HKS so it's gotta be pretty loud to hear over my exhaust and radio. The thing is it lasts for a whole 10 minutes. After the car has warmed up, the noise disappears. It only happens in the mornings when the G is cold. Is this just one of the many noises that the G makes? Or should I be concerned? The car drives fine. The clutch does not slip and there are no weird burnt clutch smells. I have just never heard this noise before so it is freaking me out.

just one of the noises...... At times it can be damn near dangerous sounding and other times a light rattle.

Exactly!! Sometimes it's so loud it sounds like my tranny is gonna explode and my clutch is gonna fly out. Then literally 5 minutes later it will be quiet as a mouse. WTF??

Couple of things to be aware of.

Noise coming from engine could mean: 1) just the general design of our clutches being noisy. 2) throw-out bearing going bad causing excess noise above the norm. 3) check your engine oil level *** this is important as it happened to me and I've done a search to find a lot of owners here had the same problem. What sounded like a bad throw-out bearing turned out that the G consumed nearly 4 qts of oil over a 2 month span. Either way, if damage had occurred, it's already done. In my case, the dealer added oil for me and all was good. No more noise and the car is still pulling strong. However, the question is why the car is eating that much oil. Based on searches, they say piston seals. But I dunno. Sorry this is starting to lean off-topic. Moral of the story is to check out engine oil first, then throw-out bearing. Even then, the dealer may say its normal. =(

Good looking out. I'll check my oil after works. Dang my car is only 2 months old. I hope it's not the throw-out bearing already.

My 06 coupe does the damn thing. When the clutch is in its super quite. When I release the clutch pedal the rattling comes back. Its a pretty normal noise in all MANUAL transmissions, especially imports. Every honda I had did it, even my S2000.

from what i've read it is the dual flywheel clattering. Sometimes it behaves and spins straight and stopstraight (little to no noise) other times they dont spin straight and hit each other while spinnning (clattering). This is from my understanding of course. Someone tell me if im wrong.

^^^That's exactly what it does!! I hate that sound but I feel a little bit better that I am not the only one. It's just that my 05 never did that so I freaked out when I heard it on my brand new 06.
