Looking to get an 04...

Found an 04 coupe and went to check it out. The car is in good shape (but does have 7-10 scratches on it) but what confused me was the shiftknob. o.O It was the one with button on the side, not in front. I was pretty sure that was only on 03 models, all his papers say 04. ... He's the only owner and purchased it from dealership.

PS: 04 coupe w/gps, sport package, clear title and 32K miles - what should i offer

PPS: anyone know registration fees in cali?

i think it is the sedan that has the button in the front and the coupe has it on the side.

Really? I looked at many G35C 04s on ebay and craigslist, and all of them had button in front. Thats what kind of threw me off

PS: Where can i ask for a VIN check, or people on these boards dont do that?

Is it possible, and if so, is it hard to switch the shifts?

not hard at all. I did mine last month to a momo and made it more complicated then it should of been and it took me a half hour... there are some DIY instructions if you search.. it really shouldnt take you more then 15 minutes max to unpack the new shifter, install and clean up and pack the OEM one under your trunk for if you want to put it back and restore the car to stock when selling...
